Where are the endemic areas of dengue fever?
Dengue is endemic in tropical and sub-tropical regions namely South-east Asia, South Asia, Pacific Islands, Central and South America, where the prevalence of dengue is rising.
People should therefore remain vigilant against dengue fever when traveling to these regions.
Dengue is perennial in tropical region. Generally, the Northern Hemisphere is most seriously affected in July, August and September; whereas February to April are the climax of dengue in countries in the Southern Hemisphere, such as Brazil and Indonesia.
